COVID-19 UK Visas & Immigration form – those outside the UK who have been unable to return and apply for leave to remain

Background

This form is for people who left the UK with valid leave before 17 March 2020 and, because of COVID-19, have been unable to return to the UK to submit an application for further leave to remain before their leave expired or have leave that is due to expire.

Instructions

If you left the UK with valid leave before 17 March 2020 and you intended to return to the UK and apply to extend your leave but have been unable to do so because of travel restrictions related to COVID-19, please use the form below to provide us with your details. We will review your details and immigration record and, provided you are eligible, you will be able to return to the UK under the Covid Visa Concession Scheme and make an application for Leave to Remain or Indefinite Leave to Remain.

If your leave has not yet expired, and provided you are eligible, we will invite you to start the application process from your current location abroad and will update your immigration record to show that your existing leave has been extended for a limited period to allow you to return to the UK and complete the application.

If we determine you are eligible, we will authorise your chosen airline or other international carrier to permit you to board a flight or other transport to the UK. We will also notify you if you are not eligible and advise you on next steps.

Please complete the form, in English only, with as much information as possible. If you’re unable to provide any of the information or it’s not applicable to you), please enter ‘Not known’ or ‘Not applicable’ in the relevant box.

You may wish to take a screenshot of the completed form before submitting it, for your own records.

If your email address is entered correctly, soon after submitting the form you’ll receive a confirmation email. Please respond to this as soon as possible and not more than 48 hours after you receive it. Once that’s done you don't need to contact the Coronavirus Immigration Helpline or mailbox and we'll respond to you within 10 working days. If you do not respond to the confirmation email within 48 hours you must complete the form again if you want us to consider your request.
